How to Get to Finland?

By Plane

The international airports closest to the camp site are located in Helsinki, Tampere and Turku. You can use any of them to arrive in Finland.

The easiest way is to fly directly to Turku. Turku airport is served frequently by Finnair and Scandinavian Airlines. If you use these carriers, you usually take a connecting flight from Helsinki, Stockholm or Copenhagen to Turku only with a couple of extra euros.

Helsinki airport is served by most European airlines, so it will probably be the easiest destination in Finland to get a flight to. We have the bus transportation to the camp site from Turku and Helsinki.

If you are going to use Ryanair, your destination in Finland will be Tampere airport. At the moment Ryanair has a connection to Tampere from London Stansted, Frankfurt Hahn and Riga. From Tampere airport there is a coach connection to Turku only once a day, but you can also take a bus to Tampere railway station and then a train to Turku. The train from Tampere to Turku takes about 2 hours and costs around 20 euros.

By Ferry

If you are travelling from Sweden or through Sweden, you might wish to take a ferry from Stockholm to Turku. Both Silja Line and Viking Line have two connections per day to Turku. You can either travel by night and arrive in Turku in the morning or travel during the day and arrive in the evening. The journey from Stockholm to Turku takes about 12 hours and the view over the beautiful archipelago is included in your ferry ticket.

From Estonia there is also an easy and frequent ferry connection to Finland. Ferries depart from Tallinn and arrive in Helsinki. This route is served, for example, by Silja Line and Nordic Jet Line.

By Train

If you are arriving from Russia, you might wish to take a train from St. Petersburg or Moscow to Helsinki. At the moment there is a daily connection from the both cities to Helsinki. Travel time from St. Petersburg is around 7 hours and from Moscow around 15 hours.
